Behind SinclairSmith is Founder and Chief Customer Officer Walt Hodge, an accomplished sales executive with a career track record of generating $150M+ in new revenue for publishers, digital media companies, and tech startups.

Walt has partnered with CEOs, founders, and revenue teams to accelerate customer acquisition growth. He’s consistently achieved sales goals and quotas while forging strong business relationships with leading brands, agencies, and partners across multiple industries.

From his early days in account roles at telecom giant MCI and logistics leader Pitney Bowes, to his role today at SinclairSmith, Walt Hodge has been focused on one thing: finding innovative ways to help his clients succeed.

Walt has prospected, proposed, and closed $100M+ in new business across multiple categories for media leaders including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and Ziff Davis. He launched new publications and sold integrated marketing campaigns to global brands like IBM, AT&T, Intel, Ford, Honda, Toyota, American Express, and Dell, along with agencies such as McCann Erickson, ZenithMedia, BBDO, and DigitasLBi.

Global Media/Brand/Agency Experience

On behalf of leading SaaS companies, Walt has helped omnichannel retailers grow revenue by leveraging shopping data and user-generated social content. At Bazaarvoice, he landed Unilever, Pfizer, LG, American Express, and others by connecting them to first-party shopping data from 700M+ customers and 5,000 retailers. Working for the shopping-personalization platform RichRelevance, he sold the first digital advertising campaigns across Target.com (Philips, Samsung, Unilever, and more). He achieved similar success at Walmart.com for Triad Retail Media, with the first campaigns from Panasonic, Canon, AT&T, and many others.

SaaS/E-commerce/Social Experience

Through SinclairSmith, Walt has helped a number of tech startups generate their first sales pipelines, gain new customers, and grow revenue. He’s put his expertise to work across industry verticals such as data analytics, video, digital ad technology, and social media, on behalf of tech startups including Nimblefish, Insight Rooms, Tint, and FindMine.

Walt received a degree in Business Administration from Campbell University's Lundy School of Business. He also holds a Business Communications Certificate from Harvard University Continuing Education, as well as a Digital Media Sales Certification from IAB.

A New Yorker with proud North Carolina roots, Walt named his company in honor of his late grandfather, a man who knew a thing or two about cultivating the soil for growth and sustainability. Walt enjoys connecting with people, helping others, and being a dad to his two sons. He’s also an avid runner who once completed a sub-6-minute mile in a hurricane.
